Monica Ward is an Associate Professor and Assistant Head for Teaching Excellence in the School of Computing, DCU. She lectures on a range of modules including technical topics and transversal skills. Her research interests include computer science education, Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL) for Less Commonly Taught Languages (LCTLs). Educational technologies and the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning. She is a pioneer and innovator in education and focuses on ensuring that learners and educators have a beneficial and enjoyable experience. She is the Chair and Co-founder of the EUROCALL LCTL SIG and is the Irish Universities Association’s domain expert on computer science education to the national Department of Education and Skills in Ireland.
